Mr. Yao-Chien Wang, the founder, and chairman of Amed advanced medication was originally in charge of a breast cancer drug business. He often witnessed that breast cancer patients are in pain when they replace the used wound dressing with the new one, the bad smell of the wound and the difficulty of cleaning have also affected the quality of life of the patients. Through serendipity, Chairman Wang discovered that the technology of UV photopolymerization hydrogel not only helps wound healing but also reduces pain during replacement due to its non-stick properties. It also allows the patient to clean and bathe due to the waterproof property, which is so much better than using gauze breathable tape. Thus, Chairman Wang decided to invest in the development and application of UV hydrogel, hoping to bring new options for wound care.
